WHAT WE DO

Our goal began with a pilot program in Lancaster City Schools in August of 2011. During this initial year, we have been working with Tech Prep and Post-Secondary students on ensuring that the college credits earned in high school will be applied to a degree when they go to college. We have also been working one on one with any LHS student who has questions about the college search and application process, as well as questions about how to navigate the often confusing financial aid process. We have offered ACT prep classes, financial aid information sessions for students and parents, and we will continue to help students find local scholarships for which they qualify. Additionally, we will work with students who aren’t sure if post-secondary education is right for them. We want to help all students and parents understand the vital importance of higher education. Getting the message out that higher education is accessible and that it is vital to the quality of life is a major goal. As Fairfield County College Bound grows, we will work with higher education institutions to promote Kids on Campus activities for elementary students and financial literacy classes for middle school students. Getting the message out early to students and parents about the importance of higher education will help students better prepare for the college application process during their high school years.
